Amanda Reid - Host of New Origin Shop's Calligraphy Workshop

As you know, we’ve been hosting workshops for a few months now. And since we’ve launched classes, all our instructors have been part of our in-house team. Well, now we’re mixing things up for the first time! We’re happy to introduce Amanda Reid as our first guest instructor.

Amanda Reid is a modern calligrapher, workshop instructor, and Doctor of Physical Therapy. She is the owner of Amanda Reid Designs—a modern calligraphy studio based in Austin, TX—that specializes in providing modern calligraphy and engraving services for events and brands.

Amanda shares her passion for calligraphy with others by hosting fun, interactive workshops to teach aspiring letterers how to use brush pens and/or dip pen and ink.

Amanda is also the founder of Calligraphers of Color, an inclusive online community that provides resources for and highlights minority calligraphers and their businesses. Calligraphers of Color was founded in July 2019 after Amanda noticed the lack of diversity in the calligraphy industry.
