Videos For When You Need A Mental Break

Oct 19, 2020by Sierra Lewis

I don’t know about y’all, but I definitely need a mental break every now and then. With the stress of everything going on with the pandemic, society, political climate and navigating small business life, I’m also getting the shop ready for the Fall season. Probably like most of you, I work while listening to music or having the TV on in the background. Now I sometimes associate those sounds with work so I’ve been looking into alternatives to give myself a 15-30 minute break from everything going on around me.

One Sunday when I was watching CBS Sunday Morning, I found the perfect type of video. At the end of the show, they’ll often show a few seconds of peaceful nature footage. It was like a sip of warm tea for my brain and I knew I needed more! So below are a few videos that I’ve found that help put my mind at ease...well...at least for a few moments. But what do you do when you need a mental break? I’d love to know! Follow me @neworiginshop or let me know in the comments section.

I've organized the videos into 3 categories: Nature videos without music, nature videos with music, and videos with only white noise. To really sweep yourself away, be sure to use headphones. For the nature videos, I recommend putting the videos on fullscreen mode to take in all of the imagery. For the music/white noise videos, close your eyes or get a blindfold and just drift away for as long as you need. I hope this helps! Talk to y’all soon!
